Nestled in historic Glendale, Ohio, Friendly Stop was originally built as a home in the early 1840's. In 1907 the home was transitioned into two separate businesses; a barbershop and a tavern. Friendly Stop has rich historical significance such as being a speakeasy during prohibition, the location in which Sandy Koufax signed his first pro contract and where hall-of-famer, and former Reds player, Ival Goodman once bartended. Friendly Stop burned in 1992 and was restored to near exact condition by former owners, Larry and Cindy Youse. In 2005, the Youses sold Friendly Stop to long time employee, Adam Gilreath, who ran Friendly Stop for 11 years. On August 8, 2016 Adam sold Friendly Stop to the new current owners, Joe & Elise Mills.
Joe & Elise invite you to browse our menu page, which includes our daily specials and beer & wine list, and check out our gallery page for a glimpse into Friendly Stop's intimate old-time charm.
